Day 1:
A guided tour to Cape Tribulation with no more than 21 guests. Visit Port Douglas and Mossman Gorge, and take a wildlife cruise on the Daintree River. Day one ends after a first class lunch at Coconut Beach Resort where you can then check-in and enjoy free time exploring Cape Tribulation or just relax around the resort pool.
Experience Cape Tribulation beach at sunset and watch the soft light disappear into darkness. At night the forest comes alive! Take a night tour (own expense) and explore the rainforest inhabitants with an expert guide. Understand why this place is so unique.
The overnight option is for the unrushed, who want to feel and experience the majesty of World Heritage Cape Tribulation.
Day 2:
Enjoy a lazy breakfast at either Ferntree Rainforest Lodge or Coconut Beach Resort. Hire some canoes or jungle surf (own expense,) or simply experience one of the many boardwalks which provide you with a greater understanding of the mangroves and rainforest.
At 2.30pm, rejoin the coach and complete your tour. Discover the unique rainforest aerial canopy walkway at the Daintree Discovery Centre. This eco-certified experience enables you to view the rainforest from the forest floor to the rainforest canopy. You may even spot a cassowary here!
Cross the Daintree River by ferry and return to Cairns.
Tropical Horizons’ guests can elect to stay a second night and take a full day reef tour. It’s only 40 minutes by small boat to Undine and Mackay Reefs from Cape Tribulation. Odyssey H2O takes you there in a unique personalised experience of no more that 30 people. This is a fantastic day to relax, unwind experience the tropical Great Barrier Reef.
