Koala Golf, Cairns is a locally owned subsidiary of Australia’s only national golf tour company, Koala Golf Tours, which has been established since 1986, with daily departures to the finest championship courses.
All tours include return hotel transfers, green fees, pro shop check-in & porterage and starter kits (balls, tees, snack, water bottle and course guide.) Motorised carts are also included at the resort-style courses.
Koala Golf also has an extensive range of rental equipment available from beginner sets through to top of the range Callaway clubs; they cater for all levels of golfer, and what a great way to ‘test drive’ the latest gear.
Your day will start with pick up from your hotel by your Koala Golf driver/guide, who are all keen golfers and provide expert local knowledge on all the course features and current conditions, and also give a commentary on local sights and attractions whilst en route to the golf course. Transfer times always allow for a warm up on the driving range, food & drinks after your game, and stop-offs at any points of interest, lookouts etc., on the return journey. Pick ups and drop offs can also be arranged from all the local attractions; just let them know where you will be and Koala Golf will come and get you.
On arrival at the course your guide will assist with your check in at the pro shop, golf club porterage, and distribute course guides, starter kits, and then direct you to the tee. Children off all ages are welcome and with prior arrangement lessons and guided rounds can be organised. After you have finished your round the Koala Golf staff will be waiting to return you to your hotel.

Paradise Palms Golf Course
Designed by Australian Champion Graham Marsh & Ross Watson and is a resort style Golf Course, 25 minutes from Cairns CBD. Irrespective of your handicap it is always challenging. It features 6 lakes and ninety four bunkers, with four tee positions for each hole, at which golfers can select a tee to suit their level. It is one of the best maintained courses in Australia. Shower and locker facilities are provided, and a 5 star clubhouse with bar and restaurant overlook the plush surroundings.
Cairns Golf Club
A true example of an Australian Golf club this is a championship course that suits all players from beginners to the professional, set in the heart of the tropics, surrounded by magnificent mountains, and only 10 minutes from Cairns. A medium length course, Cairns Golf Club features grassed and watered fairways and excellent lush greens. Whilst it is a private member Golf Club Koala Golf are able to take visitors. Club lunches are available in the clubhouse or outside overlooking the beautiful fairways.
Half Moon Bay Golf Club
The Half Moon Bay Country Golf Club is situated along the ocean 20 kms north of Cairns City and is framed by mountain, marina, beach and island views. It has an interesting mix of holes and is a challenge for the competent golfer whilst not being intimidating for social play or the beginner. Typical North Queensland hospitality with links alongside the beach, lunches and evening dining is available at the Star Apple restaurant situated in the clubhouse.
Mirage Country Club
One of the most spectacular resort courses in the world. It was designed by Champion golfer Peter Thomson and features 2 kms of absolute beach frontage. It also boasts Australia’s only night lit aquatic driving range. The course has hosted the Super Skins Games which featured some of the worlds finest golfers, and consists of 6 Par 3’s, 6 Par 4’s & 6 Par 5’s, split into the ‘Beach 9’ and the ‘Mountain 9’. Shower and locker facilities are provided, and meals are available on course at the ‘Sunbird Coffee Shop’. The 1 hour transfer from Cairns City is along the most scenic coastline that the North has to offer.
Sea Temple Golf & Country Club
Previously known as ‘The Links’, the Sea Temple, Port Douglas is a new golf course having only opened on 1st July 2000. It is situated in Port Douglas and provides 18 holes of challenging golf. The course was designed by Peter Thomson Wolveridge & Perret and offers the breathtaking combination of tropical palms meeting towering rainforest throughout the course. The world’s only true tropical ‘Links’ style course it features the longest Par 5 in Queensland. Shower and locker facilities are provided and the unique North Qld style clubhouse & fully licenced bar and restaurant are an attraction on their own and a perfect place to unwind and take in the tropical ambience. 1 hour transfer from Cairns.
Mareeba Golf Club
A little under 1 hour drive from Cairns, Mareeba averages over 300 sunny days per year, so rain is rarely a problem. With wide lush and gently undulating fairways this and superbly maintained greens this relatively flat course is abundant with native trees and wildlife, especially the grey kangaroos who have taken up residence and made this course their home. A typical Australian country course with a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere suitable to all players with a touch of the Outback, Mareeba is great way to visit the Cairns Tablelands and can be combined with Hot Air Ballooning and trip back on the Skyrail.
