The Quicksilver coach starts picking up guests from Cairns and the Northern beaches hotels from 7am onwards to begin its journey along the spectacular Port Douglas scenic, coastal road with the most beautiful views out to the Coral Sea. This is a drive you will see in lots of new car advertisements as it is so spectacular. So be sure to have your camera ready for some great shots. Check-in at Quicksilver Connections at Marina Mirage Port Douglas before you are welcomed by the entire crew of Silversonic when you board the ultra modern 29m catamaran. (they are lots of fun).
Tasty fruit muffins, danishes,(pastries) biscuits and savoury focaccia, sandwiches and tea and coffee are served until departure. Just what you need after an early start! Once Silversonic is underway, you will be briefed by your snorkel or dive instructor for the days chosen activities. Once the formalities are done with you will then be taken out to the dive deck, allocated a station and given your equipment for the day. You are then free to relax for the rest of the trip out to the first of three spectacular reef sites. The marine life out here is many and varied. Turtles, Dolphins, Whales, Nemo and Dory they are all here. Silversonic's ride control system ensures your trip is super smooth, even when traveling at speeds of up to 32 knots which is perfect for those that suffer from motion sickness. We always recommend this vessel for the guests that are not sure if they get seasick to ensure they have a great day.

Scuba Divers You will have 5 full hours to explore 3 different sites on the Outer Reef. Each one throughout the day just gets better and better as you get closer to the Continental Shelf. You can choose up to 3 certified dives, 2 introductory dives or 3 different snorkel locations. The award winning, team of professional crew, really go out of their way to ensure that all passengers are happy, comfortable and safe. The hot and cold buffet lunch with prawns is one of the most scrumptious on offer and soft drinks, snacks etc are available for purchase at the bar. Cold water is complimentary as are the ginger tablets for those that may suffer motion sickness. Yummy cakes, biscuits, cheese and crackers are served with tea and coffee until departure for the return journey. Watch the DVD of your day available for purchase and peruse the photos taken throughout the day also available for you to buy. Why not enjoy a refreshing beer or a relaxing wine on the journey home. This vessel has hot showers and only recently received a Whale Licence which is very rare indeed and enables them to allow guests in the water to interact with the cute inquisitive Minke whales during their migration. They come right up close to you so you can just about touch them. An awesome, humbling experience! You do not want to miss this opportunity during May to September and sometimes beyond.
