Passions Of Paradise
Are you looking for a day of relaxation which combines sailing on a comfortable catamaran, visit 2 beautiful locations on the Great Barrier Reef which includes a world renowned bird sanctuary, and even try a Glass Bottom Boat tour to explore the reef without even getting wet?
Well, just jump on board this new 25 metre maxi-catamaran, designed to travel to the Great Barrier Reef in comfort, style and speed. Outfitted with the latest cutting edge technology, Passions of Paradise II has awesome sailing capabilities, and in the right conditions is faster than most powered vessels. Completed in November 2003, she is fast, comfortable and bristling with the most modern high performance electronics, deck and sail hardware. Passions of Paradise won the 'Winner of Excellence' at the 2005 and 2006 Queensland Tourism Awards. Travelling on a daily basis to two fantastic destinations, Passions will show you the best of both underwater worlds — the outer reef and a sandy coral cay.
The brief was to build a boat which made a trip to the reef exciting and fun, yet retained a classy and comfortable feel. Built out of core cell (composite) fiberglass she is also very light which enhances her sailing capabilities. No matter what the weather conditions, she will adapt. Strong winds mean exciting performance and less travelling time and calm winds mean a spacious comfortable platform to soak up the sun.
Let the friendly crew take you to the best locations. Michaelmas Cay is an unspoilt paradise recognized internationally as one of the most important bird nesting sanctuaries on the Great Barrier Reef. Host to over 20,000 sea birds, this unique and fragile ecosystem combines brilliant white sand with colourful soft coral, warm shallow water and an abundance of marine life. Perfect for snorkeling, scuba diving, Glass Bottom Boat tours or just relaxing on the beach.
Your second destination, weather permitting, is to the Outer Barrier Reef, where you will have your own exclusive mooring at Breaking Patches, called Paradise Reef (hence no crowds). Here you will find the beautiful hard coral gardens that the Outer Reef is famous for.
Depart Marlin Jetty at 08.00am. Check in at 07.30am at the Passions Counter, Reef Fleet Terminal, prior to boarding.
Return at approx. 5.00pm.
