Cape Tribulation is the only place on earth where two World Heritage-listed environments live alongside each other. On one side, the astonishing tropical canopy and underworld of the Daintree Rainforest. On the other, the sparkling turquoise waters of the Great Barrier Reef.

Cape Tribulation is located 140km north of Cairns (2½ hours’ drive), and 75km south of Cooktown. Domestic and international visitors can fly direct to Cairns, where a number of transfer options to Cape Tribulation are available.

To get to Ferntree Rainforest Lodge you can use the following options:

Coach transfers are available between Cairns and Cape Tribulation daily. We can recommend suitable transport companies who offer daily transfers to and from Cairns airport; they also provide a similar service from Port Douglas. Transfer time is approximately two and half hours each way from Cairns.

You can also organise to hire a car or drive your own and enjoy the magnificent scenery at your leisure. Once you arrive at the Daintree River the ferry, operating between 6am to 11pm, will take you across to Cape Tribulation.

All rooms feature air-conditioning, rainforest views, balcony and a private bathroom. The Two Bedroom Lodges, Poolside Rooms and Standard Rooms also have available tea & coffee making facilities, refrigerator, iron & ironing board, and a continental breakfast included in the room rate.

The Two Bedroom Lodges are set amongst the tropical gardens; these rooms are perfect for families or couples. Comfortable and spacious, they feature a separate loft bedroom that sleeps two comfortably. The downstairs area features a lounge and verandah deck overlooking the lush gardens. Rooms feature one king bed and two singles.

Poolside Rooms provide a resort feel with an upstairs private balcony overlooking the lagoon style pool. Rooms have a spacious living and sleeping area and en suite facilities with bath and shower. The rooms have one king bed or two single beds, and a day bed.

Standard Rooms are the perfect option for couples on a budget — without sacrificing the rainforest ambiance. Surrounded by lush rainforest and long and wide balconies, rooms are comfortably appointed and contain one queen bed, or two single beds.

Cassowary Café and Bar offers a casual and relaxed atmosphere in an attractive environment overlooking tropical gardens and the main pool. The main Indonesian building is complemented by two dining huts built into the rainforest and an outside deck area, adding to the ambience and wonder of the resort itself. Open daily for continental buffet breakfast which is included in your rate and dinner (seasonal).

The Daintree Bar is a casual and fun bar overlooking the second resort pool with pool tables, juke box and internet access.

Basic business facilities such internet dial-up connection and faxing are available at reception. No mobile phone reception is available.
